Application

written application:
requests basic information and personal testimony

references: needed
from two non-family members

background check:
state law requires clearance by the Department of Children and Families
Training
-
pre-camp: a full day the third Saturday of
May in Tampa
-
in-camp: a day and a half on site before the
opening of girls' or boys' camp
-
staff notebook: Each staff member reads
a manual that contains camp policies and procedures along with lots of
helpful hints.
-
division director: Each staff member
has a DD (supervisor) who will give "on the job" training during camp.
-
mentor: Each new staff member is
assigned a return staff member who will provide pre-camp support.
-
activities: Camp offers skilled
training in many areas.

distance education: on-line
training
